The Cardinal

Ashby Manse The Cardinal

Bred by Ashby Manse Llamas in Australia where he was shown as a 1 year old and won Reserve Champion Male after which he was purchased by us and imported into New Zealand late 2005 as a two year old.

The Cardinal is now 6 years old and has sired 23 cria, the majority of which are appaloosa, which shows that he has an excellent trait of a prepotent llama sire for producing spots.

The Cardinal is affectionately known as TC.  Langcliffe Llamas have great confidence in his breeding future to produce some of New Zealand’s finest.

TC was awarded Champion Sire at a recent show where he was represented by three of his Progeny

Langcliffe Thunder

Thunder was bred by us and he has a very laid back
approach to life.  Whatever he has been asked to do he just gets on and does. Whether it is attending trade sites at shows or competing in classes, Christmas parades, impersonating a camel in a Nativity play, street collecting for charity, trekking or just obligingly being  led around home, with his mates, for childrens birthday
Thunder is five years old and as he is closely related to
the majority of our females he only has two cria to date.

Amate' Park Balthazar

Balthazar has outstanding American Bloodlines and was imported into New Zealand, as a one year old, from Australia he has jet black smooth silky fibre, wonderful temperament, tall stretchy frame and exceptional conformation and is one of New Zealands top llama sires.

Balthazar is now six years old and was recently purchase by us to be used as a Sire over the offspring of The Cardinal and Thunder as he is totally unrelated to our "girls".  We excitedly await the birth of his first Langcliffe cria in 2009.  Balthazar is renowned for adding soft silky fibre to his cria.

Langcliffe Karamu

Introducing Karamu who is an outstanding potential addition to our Herdsires.  His bloodlines are closely linked to the original Chilean imports to NZ in the 1990's.  Karamu's Grand Sire Ringo was imported from Chile with his Grand Dam Honeysuckle who was pregnant with his mother Amaryllis who was subsequently born in NZ.  His Sire is Ashby Manse The Cardinal imported from Australia by us, in 2005.

Karamu, along with his full sister Belladonna, were the two progeny who won the Dam's Progeny class for their mother at two shows this year.
At just 9.5 months he was awarded Reserve Champion Male Llama at the Canterbury Royal 2009.
